One of the big concerns when I upgraded to WordPress 3.1 was that I suddenly lost custom-fields from my website pages. As I looked deeper into the problem I realised that there are actually some other huge changes especially for multisite users.
Screen Options is the way you can ‘switch on’ turned-off page items.
Now Screen Options is context sensitive which means the options change depending on which screen you’re presently on.
So to turn on ‘custom-fields’ in your pages, open a page, and then adjust the Screen Options for pages.
